The Week After The Beginning

Week two came and went, as did economics, lit, and music. Economics scores were really good, while music and lit were mediocre. There were a lot of changes in this week's ranks, so if you dropped don't panic, remember it's just week two, you can still turn things around. Okay, I am sure you are all dying to know what your rank is, so without any further ado, here are this week's ranks:

Overall Individual Scores, Fall 2006, Week Two

This upcoming week will prove to be a very important one, after seeing changes in ranks, I am sure most of you will do something to change it yet again, and then the wonderful competition in AcaDec commences.

As an added plus to this post, for any team captain reading this, t-shirt designs are due Monday, so I hope you all have your designs ready.

Good job overall decathletes on a great second week, and prepare for a third one.

The Beginning

Well, well, well. Welcome back to school and another year of Sunset Academic Decathlon. The first week is in the books; we covered four subjects in four days (Literature, Math, Social Science, and Art) and tested over all four on Friday. Here are the results:

Overall Individual Scores, Fall 2006, Week One

You'll all notice that some things have changed from the summer (i.e. compulsory attendance), and you'll also notice that many things have remained the same. The consistency is good; however, I predict the return to school will bring on a new wave of outrageously tough competition very soon. Hearts will be broken, damsels rescued, and heroes will triumph. Hmmm...maybe that's something I should write in an essay for Mr. Lindsey's class. But I stand by what I said about competition.

For those of you who don't know, the Sunset Academic Decathlon Invitational competition is fast approaching: November 11th, 2006. I know, I know, November's far, but it will be here before you know it. And all 39/40 of you must be there or your grade will suffer Mr. Lindsey's already abysmal math wrath.

Please contact your friendly neighborhood team captain if you have any questions.

Summer Scores 2006

The summer has come and gone decathletes. This is Noemi typing to you hilarious I know but someone has to beat Jonathan to the end.

Moving right along, this summer has proven to be promising for the schoolyear.(Look at the big picture my fellow non-believers) With that said, we must work harder, build character and eat more. If after checking the rankings you find yourself empty and feeling like you could have done better, I advice you my friend like I shall advice myself to study more and get off of Myspace.(This being my conclusion after realizing that everybody besides Jovani is on this dreaded website.)

Final Overall Summer Scores 2006

Some reminders for the schoolyear:
  • Every team must have t-shirt designs by September 1st so please help out your captain with the design. Afterall you will be the one wearing the shirt.
  • Be prepared to attend weekly team meetings.
We shall see you the 14th then.

Final thought-I should leave the posting of stuff to Jonathan.

I feel it is my duty to inform you all that Mr. Lindsey was abducted by aliens and will be unable to make it to the meeting.

Just kidding. Sorry to get your hopes up :-D.

We'll be having our last summer meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, August 2nd, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in room 343. That's Doc's room for those of you who don't know, have forgotten, or refuse to remember. It may be the farthest possible room from the back entrance to the school, which I personally find extremely convenient.

We'll be testing over Superquiz and "The Good Earth." Neither test will be as lengthy as the Art test from last meeting, which had approximately seven million and forty one questions.

Afterwards, we will be studying some Social Science and going over some of the things in The Good Earth. Somewhere in the middle of all this, we will be eating pizza. Ah, pizza. It has been so good to us over the years.

Anyway, contact your friendly neighborhood team captain if you have any other questions or concerns.
